They jumped out to an 8–1 record in the strike-shortened 1982 season, winning all four of their home games, and clinching home-field advantage throughout the Strike-adjusted playoff’s of 1982. In the second round of the playoffs, the Raiders lost to the 6th-seeded Jets, 17–14, ending their season.
