This Vintage Linen Postcard is of the Buffalo Memorial Auditorium.

Originally built in 1940 the Buffalo Memorial Auditorium hosted the AHL Buffalo Bisons for 30 seasons until it was expanded for the coming of the 1970 NHL Buffalo Sabres. The Bisons won five Calder Cup championships, with the last coming in 1970 during the franchise’s final game.

The Buffalo Sabres and the famed “French Connection” line, featuring Gil Perreault, Rene Robert and Rick Martin were exciting to watch. See the link below for the whole story.

The “Aud” closed in 1996 and it remained vacant until the city demolished it in 2009.

The “Aud” Tenants

The AHL Buffalo Bisons, NHL Buffalo Sabres, NBA Buffalo Braves, MISL Buffalo Stallions, MILL Buffalo Bandits, NPSL Buffalo Blizzard and the RHI Buffalo Stampede.
