Colorado Rockies v Nordiques Program

The irony of this 1979-80 season match-up wasn’t realized until long after the Rockies moved to New Jersey and became the Devils. Years later the NHL returned to the mile-high city when the Quebec Nordiques relocated in the 1995-96 season. Those lucky Denver fans got a Stanley Cup their first year—breaking the hearts of a strong Quebec fanbase that was left behind. The year prior, the expansion Denver Grizzlies won the IHL championship—their first year. Oh to be a hockey fan in Denver those 2 years.
