The movie “Slap Shot” is a hockey cult classic. It chronicles the moral battle between goon Hockey and finesse hockey that was plaguing the sport at the time. The stars were the Hansen brothers. They were comprised of actual former players Dave Hanson with Jack and Jeff Carlson. The fictional Charlestown Chiefs wore Minnesota Fighting Saints uniforms. Several extra’s were players from a team I watched that had just folded, the Long Beach Sharks (Ron Docken and Ted McCaskill—Baseball’s Kirk McCaskill’s father).
