The Houston Dynamo began as a dynasty. The franchise began as the San Jose Clash then reverted to the beloved EarthQuakes of NASL yore. The ‘Quakes won 2 MLS Cups in San Jose but couldn’t get a stadium deal done—and they re-located to Houston. This is still the only franchise re-location in MLS history.

Houston fans were spoiled at the beginning and packed the stadium with crazy support—helping MLS realize new markets were hungry for the sport.
