“NASL Notebook” gave fans the news they couldn’t find in newspapers. “ASL Action” did the same for the second circuit. You just couldn’t find this info anywhere.

Seattle Sounders fans can reminisce about the Soccer Bowl Title that barely eluded them in 1977.

American soccer legendary coach Ron Newman is shown receiving his “Coach of the Year” award after returning to the NASL to coach the Ft. Lauderdale Strikers (He had won the ASL title the year prior with the Los Angeles Skyhawks).

Moving on, there is a huge feature on Soccer Bowl ’77 by Paul Gardner. The title game featured the Seattle Sounders and the New York Cosmos and was played in Portland’s civic stadium.Probably the most memorable Soccer Bowl as it was Pele’s final professional game and he was able to retire with an NASL title.

After that Sounders fans can re-live their NASL Rookie of the Year Jim McAlister. He was definitely a big story in his maiden season.

ASL fans can read the Season Review and reminisce about favorites like Jose Neto and the champion New Jersey Americans.
Cover has been taped along spine.
