Back in 1984 this is what fans could expect for a game program, an amateurish copy center booklet with information they couldn’t find in the newspaper. Young soccer fans are now spoiled but things weren’t always as first class as they are now.

The U.S. Olympic Team played San Diego Sockers in an exhibition game at El Camino College in Torrance, California. Three of the Sockers were on the National Team that was preparing for the upcoming Olympics. The game was played on July 7, 1984 and ended 2-2 in front of 6,384 fans. Goals were scored by the Sockers Caleb Suri and Gerry O’Kane. The USA’s goals were by Ricky Davis and Erhardt Kapp
