1996 Padres, Mets, Monterrey, MX Program

1996 “La Primera Serie” San Diego Padres vs New York Mets in Monterrey, Mexico Game Program. I was doing some work with the Padres and was able to get 2 seats behind home plate. Friendly businessmen kept buying us rounds of Carta Blanca. This trip got us hooked on Mexican Beisbol.

We got to see Fernando Valenzuela pitch in Mexico in a major league regular season game——a spectacle. By the time it was over, Ken Caminiti ate a snickers bar, then hit the Grand Slam HR that defined his MVP season.
