The 1999 San Diego Flash season was a memorable one. They had moved to Mesa College in Clairemont Mesa and tooled up with a pretty impressive roster.

I actually designed and produced this Media Guide along with Jon Greene. Jon went on to do great work with the San Diego Spirit of the Womens United Soccer Association (WUSA) and is currently at his dream job, San Diego Sockers (MASL) Communications and Marketing Manager.

The Flash finished its sophomore A-League season with a 20-8 mark, one game behind the previous year’s club. In two seasons, the team had compiled a 41-15 lifetime record, a .732 winning percentage. San Diego led the League in home wins (13) and bonus points (11). The team finished second in League with 65 goals, a new club record surpassing 1998’s total of 58, behind Vancouver’s 75 goals. The defense alllowed 30 goals, a club record, which ranked fourth in the final league standings.
