Soccer Corner October 1979 Issue

In this post season issue, ASL Action describes how the New York Apollo wanted to sign a 5 year lease at Shea Stadium. The New Jersey Americans signed NASL royalty head coach Eddie Firmani. A franchise was granted to Wichita Kansas that was going to be named the “Wings” beginning in December in the Indoor League (interesting!).

Trevor Francis Says, Thank You America! in this feature on how the NASL improved his game. There is also a foldout poster of Trevor.

USMNT fans can read about the dismal 6-0 loss to France in New York. This was the Dark Ages of the program for sure.
