Soccer Bowl ’77 was arguably the most remembered Soccer Bowl in history. It featured Pele’s final competitive game with the New York Cosmos and he was able to win a title before retiring. Their opponent that day was the Seattle Sounders. Played before a packed house in Portland’s Civic Stadium, many having made the short trip from Seattle, the atmosphere was tremendous.
