This issue features news clippings describing how the San Diego Sockers beat the Tulsa Roughnecks 2-1. The game was tied after regulation time and decided in a shootout. A post game concert and holiday fireworks attracted a record 39,102 fans to San Diego Stadium. Afterwards, the Sockers fired Hubert Vogelsinger, the only coach the Sockers had ever known.
