San Diego Nomads vs Timbers 1990 Program

San Diego Nomads 1990 Program includes league generated flyer that kept fans updated on the league (because the newspapers barely covered teams then).

The Nomads featured Marcelo Balboa and Paul Caliguiri who went on to score “the shot heard around the world” the biggest goal in US soccer history. His goal changed soccer in the USA because it ended a 40 year drought in World Cup qualifying. The US has qualified for every World Cup since then.

Had we not qualified for the 1990 World Cup, hosting USA ’94 might never have happened (or MLS). I think there should be a “Paul Caliguiri” trophy for “MLS goal-of-the-decade” or something along those lines.
