Soccer America 1979 3-Pack

In these issues a lot of NASL history happened. Trevor Francis of the Detroit Express was being shadowed by teams trying to defend him. Sonny Werblin was considering moving the “Dips” otherwise known as the Washington Diplomats. Popular American Bobby Smith was sold by the Cosmos to the San Diego Sockers. Jeff Cross describes the wealth of talent the Vancouver Whitecaps were blessed with.

Over in San Diego, Bill Center announced the San Diego Sockers signing of Mexican Superstar Striker—Hugo Sanchez (and a previous article about the team losing another striker). Plus, a few tidbits on the American Soccer League (ASL) and their July 3rd-8th box scores.
