Soccer Monthly Magazine Spring 1977 Issue

This magazine’s editor was Francisco Marcos, the guy who coined the phrase “Soccer is a kick in the grass” for the Tampa Bay Rowdies.

Check out the features on Soccer History in the US and how far the NASL had come by 1977 (with great images of Tampa Bay Rowdies and Minnesota Kicks games with huge crowds. Speaking of the Rowdies, Derek Smethurst was a part of “Murderers Row” and is featured at length. Additional player features include Paul Child and Trevor Francis.
