Vancouver joined the ranks of cities with a Domed Stadium. The success of the CFL BC Lions and NASL Champion Whitecaps led to the need for a bigger stadium closer to downtown.

A large pictorial history of Vancouver’s famed Empire Stadium opened in 1954 and torn down in 1993. For anyone who experienced events in this stadium this pictorial history will bring back many memories. It was a very special place for anyone living in Vancouver in those days.
