Soccer Corner Magazine August 1978

Back in the 1970’s soccer fans looked to the “NASL Notebook” for all of the NASL news you just couldn’t find in the mainstream media of the day. Players featured are Farrukh Quaraishi, Al Trust and a guy named George Best.

The Las Vegas Sea Gulls (ASL) are announced as a new team for the 1979 season (they played 1 year).

Ron Newman, Rodney Marsh, Ilija Mitic, Alan Merrick and Ron Davies are mentioned.

Moving along, Canada’s Brian Budd is featured for his dominance of the multi-sport-athletes “Superstars” champion.

British EPL followers will appreciate the editorial feature on EPL Champion Nottingham Forest.

Even more cool stuff, a feature on the New England Tea Men and how they had the money and the patience to make it in boston. They moved to Jacksonville 4 years later.

Last but not least, the Player Gallery feature on New York Cosmos rookie sensation Gary Etherington. He went on to a long career in the NASL and MISL.

The magazine is in excellent condition.
